Carafe & glass
Material: handblown glass
2008, WKO/Stölzle Oberglas
This project as a supplement for coffee is designed to illustrate the drinking-water quality in Burgenland. The shape of the carafe is a truncated cone of glass, with a slightly wider band in the upper part to provide a convenient grip. The lower edge shows the capacity measure of 0.7l.
The glass (0.2l) is also cone-shaped, with a ridge which facilitates a good grip, enables easy stacking and use as a lid on the carafe. The boundary of Burgenland embossed in the base lends the glass individuality, so that every user leaves an “imprint”, metaphorically indicating the source of the water.
