Books connect people and countries. The Viennese architect and designer Martin Mostböck has been guided by this idea in the design of this bookends, which he named "Brenner" after the most famous of all mountain passes: the Brenner.
The Brenner symbolizes the transition from northern to southern Europe and accordingly the "northern end” is made of Tyrolean marble and the "southern end” is made of Italian Carrara marble.
The design of the bookends is clear and concise; it can be set up in two positions and the angle of inclination of 23.4 degrees exactly corresponds to the angle of the earth axis.
