In partnership with Creative Industries Styria, H + S Zauntechnik decided to embark on innovative paths together with designers, architects and timber construction companies from Holzcluster Steiermark.

The fence construction specialist based in Raaba- Grambach invited local creatives to develop new approaches and project ideas on the subject of wood in fence construction. The fence as a marginal phenomenon? He is still a stepchild of architects and designers. A fence is a necessary but rarely passionate element of design. Its protective and basic function is far beyond design - especially aesthetic - aspects. Form follows function - ensembles of lattices, meshes and slats dominate. Fences are sort of the last white spot on the creative map. Almost unadorned presents the Design of fences today.

The special arrangement of aluminum profiles or wooden slats of different widths creates a barcode look and thus makes use of the ubiquitous aesthetics of our everyday culture. A balancing act of deliberately restrained yet distinctive design language. The aim was to use the fence to find a form that clearly delimits the property, but without competing with the architecture of the building behind it.
