Flowerpots that are suitable for planting larger plants are in demand. The last hot summers have shown how important shady plants are on squares, in courtyards, on terraces and balconies. With a height of 70 cm and a diameter of 80 cm, HIVE is a planter that is suitable for large plants and also exudes its own aesthetic quality thanks to its special shape and wavy surface.
The shape is reminiscent of braided beehives that were common in the past. Hence the name „HIVE“, the English word for beehive. The Austrian architect and designer Martin Mostböck, who also designed Kolonna and Twista for Eternit Garten, consciously sought this reference to tradition and nature and implemented it in a contemporary way.
As an architect, Martin Mostböck was significantly involved in the planning and realization of the Living Garden Apartments in Vienna, an ambitious project that integrates natural living spaces into the urban architecture in the best possible way. Findings from this now award-winning project have been incorporated into the design of HIVE.
